Excellent single track, featuring one of the best downhills in this part of Texas called Gas Pass. This trail is only 8 miles and you should do it twice to get a proper workout, but what it lacks in distance it makes up for with diversity. It's beautiful in the spring as it goes through some open fields with tons of blue bonnets. The trail is not as hard as Rocky Hill and the elevation changes are more manageable as there is better traction. Most of the trail is compacted dirt and small pebbles, great for traction. A must do if you live in Houston, it's worth the drive. The camp grounds around the lake are excellent for relaxing and grilling lunch before you head back. The Ranch sells raw steaks and they might be able to make you a burger but they don't offer a fully functioning lunch restaurant.

Great ride. Not the longest distance of trails, but the love and work that goes into it well more than makes up for it. Cheaper than dirt to camp and ride, plus they have extra bikes for rent for friends on easier outings. It may be super cheap but help out the cause and flip Alan an extra couple bills: he makes this place run smooth and does it for the love of the game.
